A Special Announcement……… a message from Sal Maiolatesi.
Over the past few months, there have been many stories floating around about the future of our winery.
Today I would like to share the exciting news in detail, so we can clarify and explain our plan for the near future.
The current tasting room on Cabernet Drive in Scott Township will close temporarily starting January 1, 2023. This is so we can construct/re-model a few minor changes to the interior of the space and prepare for the arrival of “The Ridge at Maiolatesi”,
A full-service wedding venue hosted entirely by Larry Nicholas and the Team at Constantino’s Catering. Click the link to watch a short video about the venue….
Onto our next venture, we are amid construction, a two-story building that will be the home of our new tasting room and restaurant. For those who haven’t seen the progress and its location, it is on our same property but on the left side of Cabernet Drive. A few details about the construction… the top level will
be the new location of our tasting room. It will boast a large deck both covered and uncovered so you will have the same
un-interrupted views as before, and the floor will be waterproofed so that the lower level can enjoy outdoor/covered seating as well.
And on to the most exciting part, the lower level!
This area will be the home to our new, full-service restaurant.
We have partnered with two amazing couples,
Stefano and Kristy Picciocchi, owners of Picciocchi’s Pasta in Clarks Summit, and Ezio Ferrari and his wife Barbara Agnarelli, owners of Modo 21 in Genoa, Italy.
Ezio and Barbara own and run multiple restaurants in Northern Italy predominantly in the city of Genoa. The new restaurant
will serve traditional Northern Italian cuisine along with Picciocchi’s wonderful pasta and a selection of Neapolitan style pizzas, similar to the pizzas on our menu that you have come to love over the years.
They will also provide a small plate menu for the tasting room, for those looking to enjoy lite fare like antipasto/charcuterie.
The restaurant will have its own entrance along with an entrance from the tasting room above. The lower level will have both indoor and covered outdoor seating and will feature our wines along with PA craft beers and a small cocktail menu. All dinners, including pizza will be served in the lower level.
We haven’t thought of a name for the restaurant yet, but we will let you know as soon as we do!
Our current gift certificates will be honored for use in the mall and the new tasting room for wine and lite fare.
The restaurant will have its own gift certificates upon opening.
November 2022: Exciting news happening at MAIOLATESI WINE CELLARS!
First up in line: Starting November 16, 2022 – March/April 2023, we will have a retail store conveniently located inside the Viewmont Mall, near the food court and right next door to Gertrude Hawk Chocolates. This is the best and easiest way to shop our wines for your holiday dinner table, and for gift giving as well!
*please note that this is not the annual/holiday the pop up store in the food court*
This retail location will be fully stocked with all of our wines and wine accessories. The phone number for this new location is (570) 209-2198.
Secondly, starting this January 2023, our current tasting room in Scott Twp. will be closed as we transition into our NEW tasting room in the Spring … located on the same property but across the driveway, in a building that is currently under construction. Our new tasting room will be located on the top floor of the building and will boast the same great views and sunsets as our current tasting room…. Including the large deck still overlooking the Endless Mountains.
On the lower level of this new building will be our re-invented, full-service restaurant. The restaurant will be serving Neapolitan- wood fired pizza, house made pastas of all kinds, land and sea options as well, all with a focus on traditional Northern Italian cuisine. This will truly be an amazing addition to the winery as we will be working with chefs from Genoa Italy in addition to our local staff. A BIG congratulations to our very own Dylan Michalek who will be transitioning to the new restaurant and traveling to Italy to train with the new chefs!
More details to follow on our Italian connection! Please follow us via our website, on FB, or sign up for our weekly emails for all updates and progress of the new building and renovations.

April 20, 2022
Hello friends, family, and loyal customers. I wanted to give everyone an update on some exciting changes happening at the winery!
There’s quite a bit to cover so here it goes!
As some of you might have seen in recent weeks the winery tasting room has been freshened up a bit with some new doors, lighting, and a well needed painting, but there’s more, lots more!
We are making changes to our front deck by adding a 24×36 bump out that will have a reverse gable roof covering the entire portion of the addition along with part of the original deck. We’ve also made some changes to the event space removing my office and a storage closet and with the help of Pauline turning it into a beautiful bridal suite with multiple full length mirrors, a 12’ marble counter with mirrors for your makeup artist and or hair stylist, a sitting area, and access to the back deck. Which brings us to the next project that we’re working on, a beautiful outdoor ceremony site set into the hillside with stone retaining walls, new landscaping, a stamped concrete patio all with direct access from the back deck. These changes are leading up to the bigger announcement… “The Ridge at Maiolatesi’s” which is the new name for the wedding venue.
We’ve partnered with Larry Nicolais of Constantino’s Catering & Events to bring your wedding experience to the next level! Starting in 2023, Constantino’s will be planning, coordinating, and catering all events at The Ridge at Maiolatesi’s.
Opening in March 2023 this exciting venue will encompass all of the original tasting room, front deck, rear porch and event room into an exclusive wedding venue. The couple will be able to enjoy the entire venue for the weekend of their wedding. They will have access to a newly built bridal suite; Ceremony on the expanded and covered sunset deck, overlooking the endless mountains; Cocktails and Hors D’oeuvres in the re-minted tasting room; dinner and dancing in the ballroom; and firepits and cordials on our back porch. The additional ceremony and outdoor patio mentioned above is set into the hillside for a more intimate setting. The Ridge at Maiolatesi’s will be a full service wedding venue offering: Constantino’s famously fabulous wedding fare and service; a full open bar; all services and wedding amenities. Constantino’s will also host showers and small events during the springtime months. We as Maiolatesi Wine Cellars will continue to produce our wines in the current wine cellar, but wait there’s even more!
We are in the final stages of design and will be breaking ground on a new facility on the property that will host our new tasting room and restaurant. We will incorporate a private tasting room into the new design, an expansive covered deck and also a portion that will be uncovered for those of you who love the sun! The restaurant will be separated from the tasting room so we can run each portion of the business independently. With this new design you will be able to enjoy just the tasting room, just the restaurant or both!
As we know more, and have real pictures, we will show you the progress. For now, we’ve attached some pictures of what the new space will look like and some pictures of the new venue’s building progress.
We hope to see you soon. We thank you for the many years of support and look forward to making your experience at the winery better than ever!
Thank you
Sal, Pauline, and our Family at Maiolatesi Wine Cellars
Our newest wine comes from locally grown grapes. Our new varietal, Gruner Veltliner, is grown in Nimble Hill Vineyards, Mehoopany, PA. A crisp dry white, with light citrus and mineral characteristics…..Definitely a refreshing summer wine! Come in for a taste at our tasting room in Scott Township.
